¡A new course starts in Vila!
Firstly: BE WELCOME!! We are really glad to be your home in this new adventure!
Now we’ll give you some tips about your new home: Vila Universitària!
One of the main things is how to get Vila?
By plane
If you are coming by plane, from the El Prat airport the best option is the Aerobus to Barcelona-Plaça Catalunya; once there take the FGC train (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya), lines S2 or S55 to the station of Bellaterra.
Once you get Bellaterra, just follow the UAB/ Vila Universitaria directions, it is a path 10 minutes walking long.
There is also a RENFE railway connection from the Airport Barcelona El Prat – T2. However, we do not recommend it due to the distance between the RENFE Cerdanyola-Universitat station and Vila Universitària.
Vila Universitària can arrange a taxi service from the airport, the price is 55€. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact us.
By train
Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC):
Line Barcelona / Sabadell (S2) and Barcelona / UAB (S55), Bellaterra station.
The journey from Barcelona will take about thirty minutes. There are trains every ten minutes. You can check the timetables on the website of the FGC, www.fgc.net
RENFE:
From Barcelona Sant Andreu Arenal to Cerdanyola-Universitat station, there is a free bus service (only on weekdays) that communicates with the various buildings on campus and that stops in front of Vila Universitària.
Once you get Vila you will have to sign your contract, pay a second deposit, then you will be ready to get into your apartment!
Procedure:
Once you get Vila Universitaria, you need to come to sign your accommodation contract, in order to be able to do so you will need to come to the Vila Universitaria reception front-desk, you will find us at the “You are here” signal. As you can see “Bellaterra” FGC train station is also shown.
Normally the reception is opened from Monday to Friday, but September 3rd and 4th (Saturday and Sunday) exceptionally will be also opened from 9am to 6pm.
The regular opening hours the working days are from 8am to 8pm, but if you arrive later to sign your contract, you will be able to do it.
Contract signature:
To be able to sign your contract you will need:
- Your passport or Id.
- Pay a second deposit (if you needed a Visa you may have already paid this).
- A Spanish bank account.
We know you haven’t one yet, do not worry, you will be able to open one in one of the following banks we have at the UAB Campus and nearby:
- La Caixa (Caixabank), at the Rectorate Building of the University.
- Caixa Catalunya (Catalunya Caixa), at the Plaça Cívica.
- Banco Santander (Central Hispano), at the Plaça Cívica.
It is better to open your account in one bank inside the Campus, so they know you are resident in Vila and showing the accommodation contract and your passport or Id you will be able to open it with no extra costs.
Once you have your contract signed, you need to pick up your key and meet your block representative!
You will find them outside the reception giving the keys and doing the apartment revisions.
Information meetings:
From September 1st to 15th the entertainment interns will be doing information meetings about how to move inside and around the campus, and some other information about Vila and activities.
Ask about the hours when you pick up your key! 🙂
